McD USA: Private eye campaign



McDonald's launches a new campaign, "Big Mac: Private Eye," with comical TVCs from the U.S. The ad is geared to promote the new McCafe Frozen Strawberry Lemonade, and features personified menu items attempting to solve a mystery. The key players in the campaign are Big Mac, the private eye, and Frozen Strawberry Lemonade, both of which fall in love while on the case. McDonald's proclaims more of the humorous short skits are, "coming soon to a mouth near you," and states they're brought to viewers courtesy of Comedy Central.

KFC promotes their Hot Wings with a bold TVC from Puerto Rico. The ad features the wings being prepared as it boasts, "Kentucky Hot Wings. Wings so tasty they don't need a sauce." KFC conveys their recipe consists of only chicken and spices while proclaiming they are crunchy and spicy for a taste explosion in every bite, and details they're available starting from only $1.99

KFC promotes their Brazer with a new TVC from France positioning the chicken sandwich as irresistible. The spot features a KFC employee who's confused with the lack of customers in the restaurant until he discovers all of them surrounding the oven containing the popular sandwich. KFC proclaims the Brazer is an oven roasted chicken filet topped with cheese, tomatoes and lettuce all nestled on ciabatta bread and boasts, "Oven-cooked chicken has never had it so good."

BK Germany, "you don't need more"

Subway promotes their Subs of the Day with a TVC from Germany focusing on the product's price. The spot features a javelin thrower who hurls his stick 2.49 meters in a competition, showing the participant completely satisfied with the outcome as the ad boasts, "You don't need more." Subway proclaims consumers can get a different sub every day at the restaurant for the low price of €2.49, and continues to encourage viewers to eat fresh. Competitively, McDonald's invites consumers to build their own burger for a chance to become famous in a banner ad from Germany.

BK Melty Cheese

Burger King continues to promote their Melt'N Middles with a TVC from the U.K. The spot features Arctic scientists sitting on ice and boasting about the cheese on the burger when one asks the other, "Can you conceive of anything more melty?" The spot continues to show the tip of their glacier breaking away from the base, and the men drifting out to sea, as it proclaims the product comes with flame grilled beef and oozing cheese, while highlighting it's available for only £2.49. Also from the U.K., KFC continues to promote their Godfather Box Meal, encouraging consumers to respect the don at lunchtime.

McDonald's promotes their new Spicy Drumstick Burger in a TVC from China. The spot features the sandwich as it's prepared, and conveys the restaurant only uses the freshest ingredients when preparing their food. McDonald's boasts the Spicy Drumstick Burger is made with natural, authentic chicken drumstick meat, sesame oatmeal bread, and fresh tomatoes, while proclaiming the sandwich is available for only 16.50 Yuan.
